01 / BUILT WITH INTENT

A place for every
working thought.

Tools earn their place by making the next step easier. Cyberdesk brings your knowledge and project structure into one local workspace.

01 /

A vault with a view.

Browse folders, search notes, follow tags, and bring recently edited work back into focus.

02 /

Write. Preview. Save.

A CodeMirror editor, rendered Markdown, and Git-backed saves keep writing and revision together.

03 /

Projects with a blueprint.

Create project templates, define architecture and API contracts, and generate project specifications and agent instructions.

04 /

Find the rough edges.

Built-in lint views and a JSON diagnostics endpoint help surface issues in your vault.

05 /

Make the surface yours.

Cybercore palettes, local fonts, and a theme picker bring the family’s visual language into your workspace.

06 /

Files are the foundation.

Markdown lives on disk. Git records changes. The application serves your workspace without a database.

02 / IN YOUR ELEMENT

Open the vault.
Find your flow.

The filesystem is the model. Git is the history. Cyberdesk is the surface that helps you work with both.

Explore the implementation ↗

Start with your own files.

Point CYBERDESK_ROOT at your Markdown vault and run the local Rust server.

Move between ideas and implementation.

Browse notes, edit Markdown, inspect diagnostics, or develop a project blueprint.

Keep the work and its history.

Save changes into your vault with Git history. Optional push is configured separately.

03 / MAKE IT YOURS

Your next session
starts here.

Bring a Rust toolchain, Git, and a Markdown vault. The checkout layout below matches Cyberdesk’s current Cybercore path dependency.

ENVIRONMENT / THE ESSENTIALS

CONFIGURATION
CYBERDESK_ROOT="$HOME/Vaults/notes"
CYBERDESK_BIND="127.0.0.1:8765"
CYBERDESK_PUSH=0

Set environment variables when starting the server. The local address defaults to 127.0.0.1:8765.

Is this the running application?

This page is a project site with an illustrative workspace preview. The editor and vault run locally through the Rust application.

Where do my notes live?

In the directory you set with CYBERDESK_ROOT. Its default is ~/Vaults/darknotes. Start with a backed-up or scratch vault when trying the application.

Does saving push to GitHub?

Git pushes are off by default. CYBERDESK_PUSH=1 enables pushing after commits; it requires a configured repository and remote.
